mike-visit

Our ol’ buddy Mike Mcvicar visited us in our new studio all the way down from New York City en route to the Gator game (or lack of). Mike and I have been friends since I went to school and took a photo with Morgan and I when I dragged him down for New Years our Freshmen year. Somehow we all ended up becoming graphic designers (scary right?). Here is a recreation we made in the studio during his visit. He’s got mad skills and is a prolific designer. We are planning some collaborative endeavors in the near future so stay tuned!

Artists that make me jealous part I

Kelsey Brookes @ Quint Contemporary Art from Zack Nielsen on Vimeo.

Well here is an artist I had never seen but am diggin’ his work in a major way right off the bat. Insane detail, bright colors, angry animals, and even some custom type thrown in for good measure make me wish I were in California for his upcoming show. Watch the video above (cool music too, how could you not love “watch out for the falcon, you’re booty’s in his talons”?) and read more about the show opening here at sezio.org. More pics after the jump.

Wardrobe Doodlin’

combo

I saw on flickr recently some artists that drew their outfit for a given day and posted it to a group. Well, Hatchet took the morning and ran the same exercise. Unfortunately it was after a late night doing research at the local brewery so the drawings show that we are a little worse for the wear. We had a blast making our sketches and really got the creative juices going bright and early despite our nocturnal endeavors.

hatchet-sign

For those of you who missed the open house, here is your chance to catch up with our operation over here at Hatchet Design LLC. We had tons of family and friends turn out for the grand unveiling of the office. Sporting our efforts in the areas of paint, decor, furniture, and a totally rad sign for the front wall the office was filled to the brim with well-wishers and revelers celebrating our new endeavor. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us! We loved having you. See plenty more pics after the break and even more on our Facebook page.
